Hong Kong can sometimes feel overcrowded and small. A relaxing weekend escape to one of the outer islands, Central or Kowloon can be all the rest you need. If you desire a staycation with the full five-star treatment then the Langham Hong Kong, located in the heart of Tsim Sha Tsui, is a perfect choice for you. The hotel is walking distance to the city’s major hotspots with various modes of transportation like buses and taxis at your service.

The Langham, Hong Kong Lobby

Recently, I was fortunate enough to be invited for a weekend staycation at the Langham Hong Kong with my partner. When we arrived at the hotel, we were ushered to a private check-in procedure on the 11th floor with delicious welcome drinks and a friendly front desk officer explaining the club privileges we could enjoy.  The hotel offers the best in terms of amenities and conveniences. The beautiful and luxurious European styled rooms features a sitting area where you can look out into the vibrant streets of Canton Road, a fireplace, and a spacious bathroom with a large glass window looking out into the bedroom.

After a while, we decided to stroll through the hotel and arrived at the Langham Club Lounge, where many guests were relaxing on the comfortable armchairs. The highlight for Club guests is the high tea and cocktails served at the Langham Club Lounge, including wines and beers. This all-you-can-eat mini buffet boasts bite-sized desserts and snacks such as quiche, chips and miniature fruit tarts that both look and taste wonderful.

We came back to our room at about 6p.m, and, to our surprise, housekeeping had placed a moon cake gift box by our bed for the Mid-Autumn Festival. Langham, like any good quality hotel should, knows how to make their guests feel special.

The Bostonian Raw Bar

For dinner, we headed to the hotel’s American restaurant, The Bostonian famous for it’s Boston lobsters and oysters, one of our favorites. We tried out the four-course dinner set and chose from a variety of options such as freshly shucked oysters, charcoal grilled beef tenderloin, the Bostonian lobster bisque. The chef was nice enough to introduce different kinds of dips with our meals. We found the hot sauce very interesting. It was made of Worchester sauce mixed with Tabasco and a hint of black pepper. Alongside, the chef provided us with some vinegar, which made it very with unique with oysters. We enjoyed the main course with unlimited black truffle salt French fries. It was so addictive that we simply could not stop at just one! We finished our dinner course with baked pineapple crumble tart and a mango coconut cream slice.

Other Amenities

Needless to say, the Langham, Hong Kong is one of the best bets you can make if you are looking for a staycation. The hotel offered great service and the extra little touches made us feel valued.
