Top Three Wedding Hotels In Thailand
By Rani Moriani
Thailand truly is the land of smiles! They are known for their warm hospitality, picturesque beaches and delectable cuisine which suits the Indian palate. No wonder it’s become one of the most popular spot with the highest number of Destination Weddings. Here’s my pick for the top three wedding hotels in Thailand:
1. Sheraton Hua Hin Resort
Let’s begin with the most popular one. This is one of the prettiest and most Indian wedding friendly property which offers multiple venues within their hotel for different occasions every day. They even have a club for an afterparty scene and a great baraat walkway which allows you to dance your way to the mandap. They have 2 ballrooms which can be customized according to the size of your wedding. The only con to this venue is that it’s a 3 hour plus drive from Bangkok airport which can sometimes be stretched up to 5 hours (personal experience) given the traffic situation in Bangkok!
2. Angsana Laguna Phuket
Biased to this one in particular as it was the first resort wedding in Thailand I had ever done. For a small intimate size wedding of 150-200 people, it’s a perfect venue. This is a gorgeous property which also offers multiple venues within the hotel. They also have a unique way of reaching to the mandap, that is, their shuttle boat which makes it an amazing video shoot opportunity for the couple as the journey is scenic. The management is co-operative and understands the Indian rituals and requirements too. The only con to this venue is they do not have enough buggy service to maneuver during wedding occasions.
3. Shangri-la Riverside Bangkok
Decor for a Sangeet Event
This city hotel offers a lovely riverside view. It can host a large number of guests in-house and offers a huge ballroom with an equally huge foyer space, perfectly essential when space is what you are looking for. It may have limited options to host the smaller occasions yet it can be worked around if planned well. The service is one of the best offered in the city hotels. We managed to pull off a Horse Ridden Baraat with the dhol and music blasting. The only con to this venue is that it doesn’t allow you outside catering and pool parties.
