It is believed that during this auspicious time, Ganesha bestows his presence on Earth for all his worshipers. Son of Lord Shiva and Parvati, Ganesha is a very popular god not only amogst the Hindu’s but also in western culture. This is mainly because of his head, which is of an elephant while the rest of the body is of a human being.
