With a new year, comes brand new releases gracing our screens this month. Let’s hope it sets the standard of what’s to come during 2013. These are the 3 Bollywood releases in Hong Kong for January 2013.

Table No. 21 – Friday, January 4th 2013 – Saturday, January 10th 2013

Kick starting the year is the Paresh Rawal, Rajeev Khandelwal and Tena Dasae starrer, Table No. 21. Directed by Aditya Datt, the film is about a couple who struggles to make ends meet. Out of pure luck, the couple wins a chance to go on an all-expense paid trip to Fiji Islands on their anniversary. However, while on holiday, they encounter Mr. Khan, who offers them a chance to win a whopping 21 crores if they play a game truthfully and complete all the tasks they are given. As the game continues, the challenges and questions get progressively more difficult and personal. Do they succeed in answering all the questions? Can they beat Mr. Khan at his own game?

 Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola – Friday, January 11th 2013 – Sunday,  December 13th 2013

With its catchy title and Vishal Bharadwaj taking control of the director’s chair, Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola is a romantic comedy starring Imran Khan, Anushka Sharma and Pankaj Kapoor. It tells the story of the three respective titular characters and the twists and turns they face with relationships, conflicting love interests, power and money. Like most Vishal Bharadwaj films, this aims to deliver power-packed performances.

Race 2 – Friday, January 25th 2013 – Sunday,  December 27th 2013

Anticipated as one of the biggest sequels of the year, Race 2, directed by Abbas-Mustan, promises to deliver with its ensemble starcast as the first major release in 2013. Saif Ali Khan returns as Ranveer Singh, devastated by his girlfriend, Sonia’s death, whose main purpose is to avenge the latter’s death. In the attempt to succeed, he comes across Armaan Malik (John Abraham), Elena (Deepika Padukone) and Omisha (Jacqueline Fernandes) who stand in the way of accomplishing his goal. Filled with betrayal, love and twists at every turn, the dynamic director duo promise to keep you at the edge of your seat with this thriller.
