Still From Mahabharat - The Rise Of Dharma

Mahabharat –The Rise of Dharma
A live theatrical production from New Zealand

The Hong Kong Chinmaya Foundation (HKCF) is proud to present for the first time in Hong Kong, “Mahabharat – The Rise of Dharma.”  This 120 minute live theatrical performance in English, which played to packed houses and standing ovations for three nights in New Zealand, is coming to the territory for a special one-night-only performance. The show aims to depict one of India’s greatest legends through modern-day story-telling, beautiful dance choreography and a powerful soundtrack.

The show is based on the ancient Hindu scripture of the same name, written over 5,000 years ago by the renowned sage Ved Vyasa. The Mahabharat is a complex saga based on the legendary narrative of the Kurukshetra War and the fates of the Kaurava and Pandava princes in ancient India. Through the many twists and turns of this fascinating story, underlying Hindu spiritual philosophy is revealed. It sheds light on the varied human emotions that drive people and the psychology underlying their actions and desires. The Mahabharat story is one of the most famous epics in India and is well-known in other South-East Asian nations such as Thailand and Indonesia.
