During their recent visit to Hong Kong, I got the chance to interview the talented trio, Alia Bhatt Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Malhotra who made their debut in Student of The Year in 2012. It was fun having a chat with the three of them backstage during their live performance for the Hong Kong Progressive Group’s Exotic Ball of the Year.

1.       How do feel about your first ever performance in Hong Kong?

[colored_box color=”yellow”]Alia: It’s our first international performance together and my first ever visit to Hong Kong, so its been a very exciting time and a lot  of fun. We’ve had a great time interacting with the audience and making sure they were comfortable and involved.[/colored_box]

[colored_box color=”blue”]Varun: Its been great as the band has finally gotten back together. Hopefully, this is not the last tour together.[/colored_box]

[colored_box color=”green”]Sidharth: It feels great, the audience was fabulous and it was great being on stage together[/colored_box]

2. Tell us about your upcoming projects?

Sidharth Malhotra

[colored_box color=”yellow”]Alia: My second film- Highway opposite Randeep Hooda releases this year on the 13th Dec.[/colored_box]

[colored_box color=”blue”]Varun: I have a film coming up called Main Tera Hero which is a comedy film releasing next year in April 2014. It is about 50% completed already and as I fly back, we’ll be heading to Bangkok for further shooting.[/colored_box]

[colored_box color=”green”]Sidharth: My upcoming film, a comedy one called Hassee Toh Phasee opposite Parineeti Chopra is all set to release next year in February 2014 and once I head back to India, I will start filming on my third film- The Villain opposite Shraddha Kapoor which is directed by Mohit Suri.[/colored_box]

3. [Varun Dhawan] Any plans on following your fathers footsteps into direction and comedy genre?

Varun Dhawan

[colored_box color=”blue”]Varun: Well, I have already stepped into the comedy genre with Main Tera Hero but direction…I don’t have that much patience as of yet. Probably later in the future when I can probably cast Sid and Alia. (Laughs)[/colored_box]

4. [Alia Bhatt] Pooja Bhatt has worked on many intense films in her career,  any plans on doing serious roles or would you prefer mainstream Bollywood masala films?

Alia Bhatt

[colored_box color=”yellow”]Alia: She has definitely inspired me majorly to believe in women empowerment. She is a very strong minded person, with value – she won’t bow down to anybody. She is a very strong woman. Coming back to doing intense and women centric roles, I think it is very early for me to get into that as of yet however if given the opportunity, I would love to.[/colored_box]

4.    What do you think about the current trend of remakes?

[colored_box color=”blue”]Varun: I absolutely believe in remakes, I think its a practice. Old is gold. Time and again people need to realize the importance of classics.[/colored_box]

5. Any Message for your Hong Kong Indian fans?

[colored_box color=”yellow”]Alia: Thank you so much for all the love and support, you have given us.[/colored_box]

[colored_box color=”blue”]Varun: Its amazing how NRI’s are away from the country but yet you’ll play such an important part in supporting us.[/colored_box]

[colored_box color=”green”]Siddharth: It’s been great so far and really looking forward to coming here again.[/colored_box]
