When it comes to hearty comfort food- specially in the winters, nothing can beat the all time favourite comfort food, PASTA! To all ‘PastaFarian’s‘ in Hong Kong, here’s HKYantoYan.com list of top restaurants for pasta in Hong Kong for you to indulge!
Located in the heart of Lan Kwai Fong, Ciao Chow gets your stomach growling as your order reaches their slick-fashioned open-kitchen. This is a great spot for taking a client out after work, enjoying a birthday dinner with family and friends and relishing on some freshly made pastas. And to top your experience, pick from their 25 on tap chilled craft beers and a great selection of wine to pair along with your meals. BTW, their Pizza’s are top-notch too!
Our Favourite Pasta dishes: Rigatoni alla Carbonara and Mushroom Ravioli (for our veggie lovers!)
Ciao Chow | G/F, California Tower, 30-32 D’Aguilar Street, Lan Kwai Fong, Central, Hong Kong | Tel: +852 23440005.
At this 200 alfresco seating restaurant, you will find the slow processed Artisanal Pasta and Dry Pasta. Located at the line of bars and restaurants in Tsim Sha Tsui East, Spasso is by far our favourite spots in the Kowloon side for an authentic Italian meal. Their collection of wines, champagnes, and grappa along with their amazing Sunday brunch are a sure win!
Our Favourite Pasta dishes: Penne Jerome (veggie pasta with truffle sauce) and Lasagne Bolegnese.
Spasso | G5-8, 12-17, Empire Centre, 68 Mody Rd, Tsim Sha Tsui East, Hong Kong | Tel: 852 27308027.
Think Lasagne and the one name that pops into our mind is Pirata. Sitting pretty on the top floor of 239 Hennessy Road in Wan Chai (with several other bars and restaurants), Pirata offers a hearty Italian meal with a breathtaking view of Home Kong.
Our Favourite Pasta dishes: Honest Lasagne, Taglietelle with black truffle (veggie option!)
Pirata | 29/30 F, 239 Hennessy Road, Wanchai, Hong Kong | Tel: +852 28870270.
Now this one is quite an unusual option in our list as its not a very popular location but it is a sure win amongst the Desi crowd in the Kowloon side. And you might wonder why? It’s simple. They have loads of vegetarian and Jain options as well in their menu. Just to manage expectations, the ambience is nowhere close to the rest of places in our list. The vibe at Fog is similar to that of a rustic bar you would find on the streets of Hart and Prat Avenue but that doesn’t change the fact that they offer an amazing Italian meal! Best of all… the food doesn’t cost a pretty penne!
Our Favourite Pasta dishes: Penne Arrabiata and Creamy Chicken Alfredo.
Fog Bar | G35, Peninsula Centre, 67 Mody Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong | Tel: +852 21533686.
When it comes to Causeway Bay, you probably wouldn’t expect a restaurant as spacious as Eat.it! One of the most authentic Italian restaurant in Hong Kong, Eat.it offers a really nice vibe with indoor and outdoor seating options. Rigatoni Amatriciana should absolutely be on your “give it a try list” after reading this article. Also, do not forget to sip on some crafted Italian cocktails from their menu to wash it all down 😉
Our Favourite Pasta dishes: Taglietelle Funghi (veggie option) and Carbonara. Bonus, their Burrata salad is mind-blowing!
EAT.it | Shop J, Fashion Walk, 9 Kingston St, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong | Tel: +852 24898822.
