Voted New York’s best Neapolitan-style Pizza’s, Motorino’s Pizza’s are now available to Hong Kong’ers. Acclaimed Pizzeria, Motorino from New York is now open in SoHo. The restaurant features Pizza’s topped with fresh and seasonal ingredients. Since it’s opening in March, the pizzeria has garnered accolades and critical success from the locals here who miss New York style pizza’s.
The chef, Mathieu Palombino successfully ran BLT Steak and other restaurants working under highly skilled chefs. He realised his dream of opening a pizzeria after studying the art of Pizza making in Napoli (Naples, Italy). Hailing from Belgium, Palombino honed his skills working in restaurant kitchens as a teenager and went on to work in a variety of fine-dining restaurants including the Bonsoir Clara in Brussels.
Motorino features the cool hipster vibe of Brooklyn with a great emphasis on the Pizza. With a classic wood oven, the menu is based around the Pizza. You have salad’s (octopus salad), roasted vegetables etc. Apart from beer, which goes extremely well with Pizza, Motorino’s also stock carefully selected Pizza wines.
The chef brings a simplicity and thoughtfulness to the classic Italian food and serves it in an unpretentious way. Motorino has since it’s opening has been serving great Italian fare and garnering a good following.
