Craving for some delicious Indian food?
There are a handful of Indian restaurant’s in Hong Kong that truly offer an authentic Indian meal! We were super stoked when we found out that one of our all-time favourite and the oldest spot in town, Jojo’s Indian Restaurant -has renovated and re-conceptualized its entire restaurant and menu with an all new theme! The interiors take inspiration from modern style Bombay cafes, with pop Indian art from Bollywood movies and the soft lighting and teal colours, create a very calming, warm and relaxing ambience.
The new menu at JoJo Indian Restaurant follows the Grand Trunk Road route from Kabul, Afganisthan to Kolkatta – with a range of options for eg: Dhansak (Persian/Irani dish with lentils and lamb) and Sorshey Mach (Bengali style fish stew). We tried out some of the brand new signature dishes put together by Chef Arjun Singh – who has worked at the popular Baluchi, The Lalit, Delhi. Some of our favourite and absolute must-try dishes included Paneer Tikka, Lahori Kadai Chicken, Afghani Baingan, Dhansak and the signature Dal Bukhara (Dal Makhani).
Being the typical Indian, I love my dal makhani and garlic naan – and I can safely say that JoJo’s dal is one of my favourite in Hong Kong, it hits the spot every time. The kebabs and paneer tikka were also another one of my favourites, both which melt in your mouth with a burst of flavours of herbs and spices. If you somehow have some room left and have a sweet tooth, don’t forget to try out the kulfi and their chai – which comes in a cutting glass – full Desi style!
The best part about JoJo’s is that it opens up from 8am – 4am and provides a wide range of options for breakfast, lunch, dinner and midnight nibbles serving our all-time favourite dishes like parathas, dosas, idlis and did I mention, kathi rolls? Yep – that’s right. JoJo’s Indian restaurant is your go-to-spot for all your Indian food cravings in Hong Kong and perfect for vegetarians and non-vegetarian options!
