‘A Taste of Hyderabad’ in Hong Kong

The Consulate General of India, Hong Kong in collaboration with Hotel Kowloon Shangri-La, presents ‘A Taste of Hyderabad’ in Hong Kong from 1st June to 7th June, 2014. Two talented Indian chefs, Chef Mohammed and Chef Sanjay from Ashok Hotel, New Delhi have been specially flown in for this exciting week long food festival.

The buffet includes an extensive menu featuring a wide range of South Indian dishes. Appetizers and tandoori items include Mahi-e-Gulfam (Chunks of Fish marinated in Mint Flavouring cooked over Charcoal) to Tandoori Murg (Chicken marinated in Indian Masalas cooked in a Clay Oven), Ajwani Paneer Tikka (Cottage Cheese flavoured with Spices and Caraway), Tohfa e Zameen (Mixed Vegetable Skewer) and Veg Pakora (Deep-Fried Vegetables and Cottage Cheese Slices coated in Bengal Gram Flour).

Popular soup and main course choices include Yakhni Shorba (Hyderabadi-Style Mutton Soup), Chepala Pulusu (Fish cooked in Tamarind Gravy), Karuvepillai Ira (Marinated Prawns with Spices and Curry Leaves), Palak Corn Masala (Corn and Spinach Curry) and Vacchi Gosht Ki Biryani (Slow-Cooked Lamb Rice).

Some of the delicious desserts consists of Ada Pradhaman (Rice Flakes cooked in Jaggery-Flavoured Milk), Kesari Bhat (Exotic Blend of Semolina, Sugar and Pineapple).

  • Thursday from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. (Adult: HK$578, Child: HK$468)
  • Friday – Sunday and Public Holidays from 6:00 to 9:30 p.m. ( Adult: HK$598, Child: HK$488)
  • A Beverage Package for HK$98 (Unlimited serving of Indian special drinks including Mango Lassi, Jal Jerra and Mauuige plus house red and white wines, beer, soft drinks and chilled juices)
