By on November 8, 2014

Hong Kong’s West Kowloon Cultural District is gearing up to host the 7th edition of the ClockenFlap Music & Arts festival, expected a whopping footfall of over 40,000 attendees. This year’s ClockenFlap jamboree will spread over the 28th, 29th and 30th of November with the best of international, regional and local music and arts participation.

The beauty of the festival begins at the venue—the incredibly scenic backdrop of the West Kowloon waterfront serves the perfect setting for Hong Kong’s biggest and, by popular belief, the best annual outdoor event. Although the festival title only captures ‘music’ and ‘arts’, ClockenFlap is more than that at its very core; it is a magical weekend full of music, arts, crafts, people, family, food, culture and more. At heart, ClockenFlap is nothing in isolation, but everything in its shared brilliance. It showcases live music from both local and international quarters, film, digital arts, art installations, children’s entertainment, animation etc.

The past editions have been loved, lived and relished. In keeping with soaring expectations, the ClockenFlap team has tried to design the 2014 event with deeper inspiration and crazier dreams so that everyone derives the maximum fun and festive quotient. They have already announced their 1st and 2nd round of line-ups.

Last year’s ClockenFlap is by far the biggest in its history, where over 30,000 people attended and made merry over music, film, arts and more (Read our review of last year’s ClockenFlap by clicking here). This year, it is expected to be bigger and better. In addition, there is also going to be a craft market on the 29th and 30th November, organized by Handmade Hong Kong, where you get to shop for some interesting and unique Hong Kong crafts and memoirs.

ClockenFlap 2014

The idea of the ClockenFlap festival was to create a platform where Hong Kong’s arts, music and films can be showcased alongside a vibrating party of international talents, a bridging of the local with the world art and music forms that would enthrall the Chinese audience like never before. The vision the founders had when they formed ClockenFlap has rightly been gathering steam over the years to become what it is now — a supremely infectious and irresistibly anticipated event of Hong Kong every winter.
