New Bar in TST: Sky Deck Rooftop Lounge
New bar alert in the heart of Tsim Sha Tsui! It’s time for residents and day-jobbers of the Dark Side to celebrate at the recently opened Popway Hotel‘s Sky Deck Rooftop Lounge. Situated on the 19th floor, this stylish bar has stunning views of the Victoria Harbour, and is a perfect place to unwind whether with friends or colleagues.
The decor is all-white, with couches for bigger groups, tables for four, and seats at the bar for couples and singles. The color scheme and the unobstructed view furnishes a sense of spaciousness, a luxury in Hong Kong.
The drinks menu at the Sky Deck Rooftop Lounge offers both traditional and exotic cocktails. The Popway Punch is their signature vodka-based drink, a summer mixture of passion fruit, cranberry, earl grey tea and lemon juice. It is mildly sweet with a hint of mint for freshness. The whisky-based cocktail Pop Up is more masculine, with guava juice, passion fruit and some lemon juice. It’s crisp, light and the perfect drink to beat the heat.
Apart from the cocktails, the Sky Deck also has a great wine selection for wine lovers.
The snacks offered are a good mix of tidbits like chips and nuts, as well as a few filling starters. The Cheesy Stick is crisp on the outside, and warm and with melted cheese on the inside.
An interesting dish on the menu is the “Poppet” Prawn, where the prawn is dipped in Mayo, sprinkled with crushed popcorn and served on a skewer. This unique combination of ingredients and the creative presentation makes it a must-try!
The K-Town Kimchi Burger is another show-stealer with a rich, well-done, juicy beef patty and understated kimchi tones. This burger comes with a side of fries and is perfect for one.
For vegetarians, the menu also has Corn Fritters – and if you feel like some salad, the restaurant Uptop Bistro has some interesting ones such as the Spring Field – a quinoa salad with white balsamic dressing and pickled shallot.
Being a relatively new spot, the Sky Deck Rooftop Lounge still hasn’t gotten as crowded as the older bars, so don’t miss the chance to grab the best seats and enjoy the view while you still can. Head over to this new, contemporary rooftop bar the next time you are catching up after work for drinks or just want a quiet evening with friends, and sink into the beautiful Hong Kong skyline.
